The Challenge

A leading international retail brand was expanding rapidly across China, opening new stores at a pace of 8-10 per month. Each store required complete IT infrastructure β€” POS systems, network cabling, Wi-Fi, digital signage, back-office servers, and CCTV. The brand's existing IT vendor could not keep up with the deployment schedule, and quality was inconsistent across locations.

The client needed a partner who could deliver standardized, high-quality IT infrastructure at scale, with a centralized management approach but local execution capabilities. The timeline was aggressive, and the cost needed to remain competitive without sacrificing quality or reliability.

Our Approach

CHINTEC assembled a dedicated infrastructure team of 15 engineers based in Shanghai and Suzhou, with field dispatch capabilities across all target cities. We developed a standardized deployment playbook that could be replicated across every store, ensuring consistency in quality and configuration.

Our project management team in Singapore established weekly governance calls, milestone tracking, and real-time reporting dashboards. Each store deployment followed a 5-day cycle: site survey, cabling, equipment installation, configuration, and handover β€” with a dedicated engineer on-site for the full cycle.

The Solution

We delivered a complete IT infrastructure solution for each store including: structured network cabling (Cat6A), enterprise-grade Wi-Fi (Aruba/HPE), POS terminal deployment and configuration, digital signage systems, back-office server installation, CCTV surveillance (Hikvision), and UPS power protection.

A centralized monitoring system was established at our Shanghai operations center, providing 24/7 visibility into the health and performance of every store's IT infrastructure. Automated alerting ensured rapid response to any issues, with an average resolution time of under 2 hours for critical incidents.

Results & Impact

Over 12 months, CHINTEC successfully deployed IT infrastructure across 100+ retail locations in 18 cities across China. The project achieved 98% SLA compliance for uptime, with zero critical incidents during peak retail periods including Singles' Day and Chinese New Year.

The client reported a 30% cost reduction compared to their previous vendor, with significantly improved quality and consistency. The standardized approach reduced per-store deployment time from 10 days to 5 days, enabling the client to accelerate their expansion plan.

β€œCHINTEC's ability to deliver consistent quality across 100+ locations while maintaining aggressive timelines was impressive. They became our trusted IT infrastructure partner for all China operations.”
